DOHA: Doha Municipality has set up a special team to receive complaints from the public against outlets breaching health and safety rules, particularly during the ongoing Eid Al Fitr holidays.

People can call the municipality on telephone number 44266666 and lodge complaints against eateries, including fast food joints, meat shops and outlets selling sweets and confectionary items.

Inspectors from the municipality are doing rounds, checking outlets to ensure their compliance with civic health and safety rules.

Veterinarians are also part of the team to check the quality of meat at butcheries.

The municipality has urged cooperation from the general public.

These are the outlets mostly patronised by people during the long Eid holidays and that’s why they are being checked, Qatar News Agency (QNA) said yesterday.
