Doha: Ooredoo provided support for the Sri Lankan community at the 13th Annual Symposium of Sri Lankan Majlis Qatar (SLMQ), as part of its ongoing work for every community in the country.
The socio-cultural organisation hosted members and their families, well-wishers and key delegates at the symposium at College of North Atlantic Qatar.
Ooredoo was one of the supporters of the award ceremony at the event, which saw individuals celebrated for outstanding services to the community and their achievements.
Fatima Sultan Al Kuwari, Director Community & Public Relations, Ooredoo, who attended the event, said: “We are pleased to support SLMQ, under the patronage of the Sri Lankan embassy. They have been doing commendable work through charity and community events, and we see good value in the initiatives being undertaken by the organisation.”
Sri Lankan Ambassador Jayantha Palipane was Chief Guest at the symposium held under the theme ‘Co-existence among communities’.
Dr Jehan Perera, Executive Director, National Peace Council of Sri Lanka, delivered the keynote speech on contributions of Sri Lankan Muslims to the wider community.
