Sealine treats 623 patients during camping season

DOHA: The Sealine Emergency Centre of Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) provided treatment for 623 patients, including 44 women, 431 Qataris and 192 residents, during the winter camping season. 
Twenty-two patients were transferred to Hamad General Hospital (HGH) by Ambulance Service while one case was transferred to HGH through LifeFlight helicopter.
HMC held a special event to mark the seventh successful year of its centre, which operated throughout the 2013-2014 camping season.
The celebration was held at Sharq Village and Spa, attended by Hamad Nasser Al Khalifa, Chief of Facilities and Workforce Development Group, Ali Al Khater, Executive Director, Corporate Communications,  HMC, and doctors, nurses and staff from Ambulance Service. 
To provide enhanced services to campers this season, additional doctors, nurses and paramedics were allocated to the centre, which was also provided with advanced emergency equipment and health insurance facilities.
Speaking at the ceremony, Al Khater praised efforts of Ambulance Service, other HMC teams and everyone who participated in the camping season. 
Forty HMC staff were honoured for efforts during the camping period which ran from October 2013 to April 2014.
