DOHA: A number of activities reflecting Qatari tradition were launched at Heritage Village yesterday.

They included folk dances such as Ardha, Al Samri and Al Lakhbiti, folk songs and an exhibition of Qatari handicrafts.

“The activities and performances at Heritage Village are events complementary to the activities we held in January and February and are an important part of activities of the Ministry of Cultural, Arts and Heritage responsible for reviving the heritage of Qatari society in terms of art, traditional dances, songs and traditional professions,” said Mohammed Issa Al Jaber, General Supervisor of Heritage Village at the ministry.

Competitions for children are also among the activities being organised at Heritage Village.
