Doha: Qatar fuel Additives Company limited Qafac has participated in the eighth edition of the “QP Environmental Fair 2014, which was held at Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) .
“Qafac is taking many positive steps in conserving and recycling treated process waste water,” Qafac General Manager Nasser Jeham Al Kuwari told H E Dr Mohamed bin Salah Al Sada during his visit to Qafac pavilion on the opening day of QP Environment Fair 2014. Al Kuwari informed that Qafac CDR Plant will be commissioned in 4th quarter 2014. Apart from recovering 500 T/D of CO2, CDR project will recover 720M3/D of water from fuel gas moisture. This water will be fed to the demineralisation section of Qafac’s utilities plant for making boiler feed water. Qafac has also implemented a steam trap management programme and as a result, there will be a saving of 107 T/D of BFW corresponding to the rectification of steam losses due to faulty steam traps. Qafac has a plan to implement ultra filtration and Reverse Osmosis process for tertiary treatment of treated wastewater.
Qafac Senior Environment & Sustainable development Engineer also delivered a technical presentation on the company’s efforts in conserving and recycling treated waste water.
