Commercial Bank app now available for Windows phone

DOHA: The recently launched mobile banking application by Commercial Bank is now available for phones and gadgets based on Windows operating system as well. 

Launched last year on iOS, Android and BlackBerry, the app rose to become Qatar’s number one financial app in October 2013 and has seen an increase in customer usage of over 70 percent since then, said a statement yesterday. The mobile app allows customers to complete all their day-to-day banking at a time and place convenient to them, including making local and international transfers, bill payments, card and cheque book services, as well as the ability to locate the nearest ATM. 

In response to customer demand, the bank has enhanced its mobile banking application (app) to additionally support mobiles using the Windows operating system and Internet Explorer browsers versions IE-10 or above. 

Commercial Bank’s EGM of Retail and Consumer Banking, Dean Proctor, said: “With the continuous development of our digital banking services, even more customers can access and manage their money ‘on-the-go’. Digital banking provides simple and convenient banking options through secure channels, allowing customers to manage their money in a way that suits them.”

Microsoft Qatar General Manager, Naim Yazbek, said: “We are proud to have partnered with Commercial Bank in launching their Windows 8 CBQ Mobile application and are very excited about the experiences users will have as they utilise the various easy-to-use and convenient mobile banking services offered by the application’s features.”

Commercial Bank continues to reward customers for completing their everyday banking online, and now Windows phone users can participate in Commercial Bank’s digital banking campaign, with an ultimate grand prize including a 65” Samsung Smart UHD TV and PlayStation 4 Console. Customers also stand the chance to win one of three top-of-the-line 64GB iPad airs in a monthly draw. Qualifying for entry is easy: customers simply need to download the Commercial Bank Mobile Banking app and then log in to cbq.qa/login to complete at least one transaction.
