MoI holds seminar for private security firms

Doha: A seminar under the banner “Towards the excellence in security services for the state of Qatar” concluded at the Criminal Investigation Department headquarters under the auspices of Staff Maj  Gen Saad bin Jassim al Khulaifi, the Director General of Public Security. The seminar is organised by the Public Guards Department and Police Training Institute.

The inaugural session was attended by the Director Al Rayyan Security, Col Khalifa Abdullah Al Noaimi, on behalf of the Director General and a number representatives of private security companies along with officials from Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Labour, Ministry of Justice, Institute of Administrative Development, International Centre for Safety and Security Qatar and G4S.

Khalifa Abdullah Al Noaimi said the seminar is targeted to introduce the nature and importance of the work of private security service companies, understand their problems and difficulties, to develop and standardise the work system and to improve the performance of companies that provide private security services.

Capt Hussain Hamza Asad, the head of the section of Private Security Companies for Public Guards Department, said that the two-day seminar discussed five important themes including the work attitude of security companies, the training and its impact in developing the security measures and the role of Ministry of Interior to strengthen cooperation between the security companies based on Vision 2030.

Capt Hussain Hamza Asad and Prof Hani Hamdan from Police Training Institute presided over the sessions. Professor Wail Farmawi, the legal researcher at Public Guards Department, Prof Mahjub Adam of G4s and Ahmad Abdullah Al Harami from the Legal Affairs Dept presented papers.
