Doha: Following overwhelming response, Translation and Interpreting Institute (TTI) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University has extended the deadline for applications for admission to Master in Translation Studies and Audiovisual Translation to March 8. The Master in Translation Studies is a two-year programme to train translators from the private sector and international organisations.

It focuses on translation of documents and offers courses in translation technologies and research methodologies.

TTI is launching a new Master in Audiovisual Translation programme in the fall this year.

The two-year course offers a varied curriculum, including introductory and advanced subtitling and dubbing, voice-overs, and media translation.

It also teaches students subtitling for the hearing impaired, audio-description for the visually impaired, and selection and adaptation of translation technologies to meet the needs of different language communities.

Applicants are required to submit university transcripts, English proficiency test reports, proof of proficiency in an additional language, two references, a detailed résumé, a copy of their passport and a personal statement. Admission is competitive.
