Training held for airport security officials

DOHA: The Airport Security Department and Police Training Institute in collaboration with French National Gendarmerie concluded a 12-day training workshop for the airport security officials aiming at upgrading their knowledge and skills to ensure the highest level of security for passengers at the Hamad International Airport, said a press statement yesterday.
About 15 officials from Airport Security and Qatar Armed Force took part in the workshop, who were awarded with certificates at a convocation after the successful completion of the training programme.
The convocation ceremony was attended by the Director of Airport Security Department, Brigadier Essa Arar Al Romaihi, Assistant Director of Police Training Institute Major Abdul Aziz Al Mohannadi and the Military Attaché of French embassy in Qatar.
Al Romaihi said that the workshop was mainly intended to stress on the security measures necessary to secure the civil aviation while disasters happen, and to provide employees the knowledge and skills necessary to the security of aviation and airports to upgrade to the highest level in securing passengers at Doha International Airport in order to prepare for the upcoming Hamad International Airport.
