DOHA: The fate of the Qatari doctor, who is being tried in the UAE for alleged links to a banned local organisation, is to be decided on February 3.
Dr Mahmoud Al Jaidah was arrested at the Dubai airport late in February last year while he was on his way to Doha from Bangkok and put on trial. The UAE court trying him had a hearing and adjourned the proceedings to February 3, Al Jaidah’s son, Hassan, Tweeted yesterday, reported Al Sharq.
Hassan said the court is expected to pronounce its verdict in the next hearing. The court procedures yesterday lasted 45 minutes and the prosecution has recommended severe punishment for the accused.
