Foggy morning, poor visibility forecast today

DOHA: The Weather Bureau has forecast a foggy morning today, with poor visibility at some places, and said winds could be strong with high seas offshore.

Visibility could be as low as two km offshore in the wee hours today but the situation would improve considerably as the day breaks. 

Al Khor is forecast to be the coldest today, with the mercury dropping to 11 degrees Celsius at night, while in the day the temperature will be around 21 degrees.

In Doha, the nightly temperature is expected to be 15 degrees, with the day being a bit hotter, with the mercury levels rising up to 23 degrees.

The minimum and maximum temperatures forecast for Al Wakrah are 13 degrees and 22 degrees, respectively, while those for Mesaieed 13 degrees and 22 degrees, respectively.

The forecast for today said the day could be partly cloudy but might become cloudy by the evening with some chances of rain (perhaps, in the northern areas of the country).

Wind direction will be southeasterly with the speed being five to 15 knots. 

It could at times reach 20 knots at places.

Wind speed offshore could range from 12 to 22 knots, according to the forecast.

About the state of the sea, the forecast said waves could be one foot to three feet inshore while they could rise up to as high as seven feet offshore.

The forecast also gives the timings of high and low tides in different places of the country, including Messaieed, Al Wakrah, Doha, Al Khor, Ruwais, and Dukhan.
