Three lucky winners Linzi Gaston, Jason Suen and Ahmed Fahed Al Kuwari, who won tickets to Dinner in the Sky during the Qatar International Food Festival.
DOHA: A record 72,000 people visited last week’s 4th Qatar International Food Festival (QIFF). Organisers of the event, Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA)and Qatar Airways, expressed their delight at the success of the four-day festival held at the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) Park.
Entertainment and signature activities were enjoyed by everyone as they feasted on five star dishes served up some of Qatar’s finest hotels and restaurants.
The Qatar Airways Cooking Theatre was filled with audience, happy to participate in cooking demonstrations conducted by a number of chefs over the four days, including Chef Ramzi Choueiri and Chef Vineet Bhatia, both of whom are culinary ambassadors for Qatar Airways.
Engineer Issa Al Mohannadi, Chairman of Qatar Tourism Authority, commented: “We at QTA have been thrilled with the turn out on each day of this year’s festival, which exceeded everyone’s expectations. It is events like the festival that really highlight what Qatar has to offer visitors.”
“This festival introduces visitors to our culture and really solidifies Qatar’s reputation as an upscale, family friendly tourist destination, complete with five-star restaurants and entertainment. The MIA Park was the perfect location for this year’s festival, and we wanted to promote it as a unique tourist destination in the country. We are already looking forward to next year’s event,” he added.

Qatar Airways was happy to be part of such a great co0mmunity event and look forward to more in the future.” QTA and Qatar Airways launched a contest on twitter to promote the event on social media. The response was enthusiastic with close to 2,000 tweeters participating from Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. The three lucky winners, Linzi Gaston, Ahmed Fahed Al Kuwari and Jason Suen, each won a ticket to Dinner in the Sky.
