Doha: The temperature is expected to rise by three to five degrees Celsius starting today, according to the Meteorology Department. The heat wave is likely to last for at least three days, with the temperature returning to normal levels by Thursday, a senior official of the department said yesterday.

The maximum temperature forecast for Doha over the next three days is 31 to 34 degrees Celsius, with a higher forecast for the southern parts of the country. The minimum temperature will be between 21 and 24 degrees.

“The weather will go back to the normal levels by Thursday or Friday,” the official said. “Starting Thursday, the country will be hit by fresh to strong Northwesterly winds which will cause the temperature going back to the normal average of March,” said the statement.
