Lekhwiya wins police shooting championship

The winners of the Second Police Rifle and Pistol Shooting Championship with their trophies.

Doha: The Second Police Rifle and Pistol Shooting Championship concluded on Thursday at Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) shooting ground in Silia area. It was organised by Qatari Police Sports Federation (QPSF). Some 48 contestants, including officers and other ranks from different security departments of the Ministry of Interior (MoI) took part in the championship. 

The President of Qatar and Arab Police Sports Federations Brigadier Khaled bin Hamad Al Atiyya honoured the winners and referees.  International referees from Qatar Shooting & Archery Association Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al Jaidah, Riyadh Abdul Raheem Al Berdini, Gennady Solodonikov and Husain Mohammed Umar were honoured. 

The following are the winners of the championship.

In the pistol shooting for officers: First place : Lieutenatn Khaled Mubarak Al Khulaifi (167 points, Lekhwiya), second: Brigadier Mohammed Khalfan Ali Al Kuwari (144 points, General Directorate of Public Security), third: Brigadier Mohammed Abdul Qadir Al Khori (125 points, Logistics Dept).

In pistol shooting for other ranks: First place: Abdul Rahman Al Jadia (163 points, Lekhwiya), second: Salem Jouhar (141 points, Lekhwiya), third:  Mohammed Hassan Al Tamimi (107 points, Criminal Investigation Dept).

In rifle shooting for officers: First place: Captain Abdullah Dafir Al Dousiri (167 points, Penal and Correctional Institutions Dept), second: Lieutenant Hamza Mohammed Sultan Al Kuwari (152 points, Information Systems Dept), third: Lieutenant Talal Hassan Al Ajami (119 points, Coasts and Borders Security Dept).

In rifle shooting for other ranks: First place: Abdul Rahman Saleh Al Aran (190 points, Lekhwiya), second: Fahad Rashid Khuwaitir (186 points, Lekhwiya), third: Jabran Ali Mohsin (162 points, Lekhwiya). Lekhwiya won the team championship. 

Brigadier Khaled bin Hamad Al Atiyyah appreciated Qatar Shooting and Archery Association for cooperation. He thanked Lekhwiya for hosting the championship in their ground.
