3rd Safe Spring celebrations end in Al Khor

Doha: Community Policing Section at North Security Department organised the third ‘For a Safe Spring’ programme at Al Khor corniche on Friday. 

It aimed to raise security awareness, promote the  culture of preserving property and the environment and prevent mistakes during the camping season.

The programme was inaugurated by the Assistant Director of the North Security Department Colonel Mohammed Abdullah Al Shahwani, in the presence of Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed Zayed Al Muhannadi, head of Community Policing Section. 

Several officers from the section, guests and a large number of people attend the ceremony.

The police band attracted a huge audience from Shamal. 

Participants toured an exhibition and were excited at the potentials of the air ambulance of the Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC). 

Shows by the Training Department of Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) and parachute  landing by Qatar Committee for Air Sports were main attractions of the exhibition. 

A dog show by the canine section at Criminal Evidences and Information Department  attracted adults and children alike. It highlighted capabilities of the dog squad in combating drug trafficking, pursuing culprits and finding them out. 

The Public Relations Department, Correctional and Penal Institutions Department, Traffic Department, Police Dog Section, Rescue Police Department (Al Fazaa), Coasts and Borders Department, Drugs Prevention Department, Permanent Committee for Drugs and Alcohol Affairs and Police Training Institute from the Ministry of Interior participated in the exhibition. They displayed safety and security materials and distributed booklets. Some departments screened safety and security awareness films and displayed products made by their staff.

The HMC Ambulance Service,  Lekhwiya, Qatar National Anti-Doping Centre, Qatar Foundation for Women and Children Protection, Qatar Foundation for Combating Human Trafficking, Arshidnee Centre under Eid Charity, Family Counselling Centre, Red Crescent Al Khor Branch, Social Development Section of Qatar Charity, Social Development Centre, Qatar Air Sports Committee, Seashore Company, Naqilat Company, Al Zakheera Youth Centre, Qatari Social and Cultural Centre for the Deaf, Al Qannas Society and Community Reach out Programme Office also took part in the exhibition.
