DOHA: QF Radio has announced the winner and two runners-up for its Tweet and Win ‘Spirit of Qatar’ photography contest on Qatar National Day (QND).

The winner was Alexander Searle from South Africa, with second place going to Wedad Hachichou from Lebanon, and third place to Kervin Ocampo from the Philippines.

The winner received a pair of return business-class tickets to Barcelona, five-star hotel accommodation, VIP seats for an FC Barcelona football match, and a QF Radio Trophy. Saad Al Hudaifi, Media Center Manager, said, “The contestants’ images truly reflected Qatar’s vibrant society, its progressive aspects as well as its wealth of heritage and culture. Contestants were invited to submit their best photos that reflect Qatar taken with cameras or mobile phones, and the winning entries were carefully selected by panel of judges from the Qatar Photographic Society (QPS).”

Khaled Fikry, the Board Member at QPS, said, “We received a vast, stunning variety of images that all reflect the ‘Spirit of Qatar’.

The pictures were subject to careful, multi-phased evaluation by a QPS judging panel, which led eventually to the selection of three images, each reflecting the ‘Spirit of Qatar’ in a particular fashion.” QF Radio has posted the three winning images on its Facebook and Twitter pages.
