DOHA: Following the recent arrival of Qatar Airways’ first Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft from Seattle, special guests – wives of Qatar-based Ambassadors from various countries – travelled with the airline to experience the hospitality and service offered onboard the new aircraft to Dubai, a press statement said yesterday.

Diplomats’ wives from Algeria, Bahrain, Belgium, Bosnia, Croatia, Cyprus, Ecuador, Egypt, El Salvador, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Kuwait, Macedonia, Malaysia, Morocco, Netherlands, Oman, Pakistan, Panama, South Africa and Turkey joined the special trip.

The aircraft is being deployed on four daily rotations between Dubai and Doha, marking a new era for Middle East aviation as the airline became the Boeing 787 launch customer in the region. The airline also introduced three daily services with the Dreamliner between Doha and Kuwait.

Qatar Airways currently flies 11-times-daily to Dubai, and 8-times-daily to Kuwait.

From December 13, Qatar’s national carrier will launch its first long-haul Boeing 787 commercial service from Doha to London Heathrow.
