DOHA: Katara, the Cultural Village, is organising its First Annual Outdoor Art Fair, a community event showcasing local visual arts and performing arts talents.

The fair which will run from December 14 to 19 invites Qatar-based artists to participate in this large scale event.

Featuring a variety of mediums including collage, clay, jewellery, drawing, glass, painting, metal, and soft sculpture/fabric/clothes, printing, wood and photography, interested artists can participate by emailing outdoorartfair@katara.net. Deadline to receive submissions is November 29.

“We encourage all artists to participate through applying for their own exhibition booth, and take advantage of this opportunity to exhibit new works. One of the main objectives of the Art Fair is to stimulate the art market in Doha. This will ensure that Qatar based artists get the opportunities to both exhibit and sell works, at an affordable price to a general audience interested in Art,” said Dr Khalid Al Sulaiti, General Manager of Katara.

An Open Mic Zone will be featured during the fair, where Doha-based performing artists will be given the chance to perform on stage. The Art Fair will also include mobile restaurant stands around the Amphitheatre area for visitors to have access to a variety of tasty treats. In addition, the fair will offer a chill-out area where visitors can relax and enjoy the activities on display.
