Scattered rains likely today

 

 

DOHA: The Met office has forecast unstable weather and said there are chances of scattered rains, possibly with thunder, in some parts of the country this evening. The weather is expected to change gradually today from partly cloudy to cloudy, and rainy conditions may continue until Monday afternoon.
In a special bulletin issued yesterday the Met office said the wind will be northeasterly to southeasterly and moderate in speed at places.
In its routine weather forecast for today, the Met said the wind may initially move at three knots an hour, gathering momentum later to 12 knots and to 25 knots an hour especially when it rains. It would be less windy offshore as northwesterly to northeasterly wind may move at speeds of five to 12 knots and at times at 15 knots an hour.
The morning today will be misty and visibility will be three km or less at first, later improving to four to eight km. The sea will not be tumultuous as waves may jump to a foot and up to three to four feet deep in the seas.
The temperature will vary between 15 and 27 degrees C in the country today. Doha will be witnessing day temperatures of up to 27 degrees C while at night the mercury would likely fall to 20. In Abu Samra, the maximum temperature forecast is 22 degrees C, while at night the temperature would fall to 15 degrees. In Meassiaeed and Al Wakra, the maximum and minimum mercury levels forecast are 25 and 16 degrees respectively.
In Al Khor, the day temperature is expected to be 25 degrees C while at night the mercury would likely be dropping to 17 degrees. In Al Ruwais, the day will be relatively cold as the temperature forecast is 23 degrees C. The night will be colder here with the mercury falling to 19 degrees C.
Dukhan would likely witness similar weather conditions as the temperature forecast for this place are 24 (in the day) and 19 degrees C (at night), according to the routine weather forecast by the Met office.
