DOHA: Barwa Bank, Qatar’s fastest growing Shariah compliant banking service provider, formally launched its Private Banking at an event held at the Museum of Islamic Art on Tuesday.
The launch event was marked by a significant contribution to future of children’s education, an exclusive exhibition of coloured diamonds, co-hosted with renowned fashion house and jeweller, Asprey, London.
Speaking at the event, Sheikh Mohammad bin Hamad bin Jassim Al Thani, Chairman, Barwa Bank Group said:, “The launch of our Private Banking Division is another important step forward for Barwa Bank and offers our clients an exceptional level of service, tailored to meet their specific financial requirements.”
During the evening, guests took the opportunity to view an exceptional collection of coloured diamonds. Displayed were a large number of rare coloured diamonds, each of which were accompanied by designs inspired by Islamic Art, created exclusively for this exhibition.
A highlight of the evening was the charity auction of two jewellery designs made especially for the occasion which raised QR700,000 for Reach Out To Asia (ROTA), and the new charity initiative “Educate a Child”, which was launched the next morning by H H Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser.
Representing Sheikha Mozah at the event was Dr Sheikha Aisha bint Faleh bin Nasser Al Thani. Essa Al Mannai, Executive Director of ROTA also spoke about the immense value such events add to children’s future. Both thanked Barwa Bank, Asprey and the generous bidders for their donations which will go to the education of needy children around the world.
