DOHA: The Emir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani performed Eid Al Adha prayers in the morning at Al Wajbah prayer ground.
The Emir was joined by the Heir Apparent H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, H H Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Personal Representative of the Emir, and H H Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Private Adviser of the Emir, and a number of their excellencies the Sheikhs, Ministers and citizens.
In his Eid Al Adha sermon, Sheikh Dr Thaqil Sayer Ash-Shammari, a judge at the Court of Cassation and member of the Supreme Judiciary Council, called on the worshippers to be pious, righteous and contemplate the sublime meanings of the holy occasion which involves adherence to Sunnah, sacrifice and its advantages.
Sheikh Shammari also urged the worshippers to take advantage of the blessed days and do acts of righteousness, connect with relatives, strictly adhere to the rulings of Islamic religion and follow the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and called for love for the homeland represented by hard work and love for citizens.
After the prayers, the Emir received at Al Wajbah Palace well-wishers including their Excellencies the Sheikhs, the Ministers, the Advisory Council Speaker and his deputy, the undersecretaries, the Advisory Council members and the citizens. The Emir also received their Excellencies the heads of the diplomatic corps accredited to Qatar followed by Army and police officers and the directors of state departments and national institutions.
All the well-wishers expressed their heartfelt greetings and felicitations to the Emir on the happy occasion, asking the Almighty for the happy recurrence of such a blessed occasion to the entire nation.
