DOHA: Qatar University’s College of Pharmacy (CPH) recently held its professional development webinar in collaboration with the with Misr International University (MIU) Egypt.
The four hour training event brought together 84 practicing pharmacists in Qatar. The event included presenters from University of South Carolina (USC) College of Pharmacy and Johns Hopkins Hospital in the US and comprised three presentations and a question and answer session on clinical pharmacy and health outcomes.
“The College organized these cooperative international internet-based activities to bring high caliber professional development content to pharmacists in the state of Qatar. Over the next year, we will partner with local clinical affiliates and international organizations towards expanding the delivery of quality content that will further advance the knowledge and skills of pharmacy practitioners using technology that brings people from around the world together to share ideas and learn together.”
“In this way, our profession will become even better prepared to meet the challenges of the Qatar National Health Strategy,” he said. The video conference was CPH’s second continuing professional development webinar. It formed part of a series of continuing education sessions organised by the College’s Continuing Pharmacy Professional Development (CPPD) program to engage practicing pharmacists on a wide-range of health issues and processes.
He urged pharmacists who were unable to attend to visit the CPH website for the lecture-captured presentations and question and answer sessions.
