Islamabad: Three people were killed yesterday in a shooting incident in Baluchistan province in southwest Pakistan.
Security sources said that unidentified gunmen riding in a motorbike stormed a house in Panjgur district in Baluchistan province and opened fire on its members, killing three people, including a woman.
The sources added that the assailants fled after the attack, pointing out that the motives of the incident were still unknown.
Baluchistan is an arid, desert and mountainous region on the Iranian plateau in south-western Asia, northwest of the Arabian Sea.
It mainly includes southwestern Pakistan, southeastern Iran and a very small section of southwestern Afghanistan.
The southern part of Balochistan is known by its historical name Makran.
Balochistan is named after the native Baloch tribes who make up the inhabitants in the region and use Balochi as their native language.
