Islamabad residents waste 15pc of total water

ISLAMABAD: A senior official of the capital development authority (CDA) of Islamabad said that available statistics shows that residents of the city waste 15 percent of the total water, which is not only alarming but a matter of concern.

“Water is the most precious gift of nature and the most important substance on earth. Being our religious responsibility, we should use water wisely to avoid its wastage. The CDA is striving hard to meet the water requirements of residents of the federal capital,” Member Engineering and Environment, Sanaullah Aman said this while addressing to audience of an event organised in connection with World Water Day by CDA in collaboration with the GSIS said.

He said in order to cope with growing demand of water, CDA has not only initiated work on the project to repair and maintenance plan of water supply pipelines but also working on a plan to supply water to Islamabad from Indus River.
