Bahrain king to visit Pakistan next week

ISLAMABAD: Bahrain King H M Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa will be undertaking three-day important visit of Pakistan from 18th of March and he will hold talks with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on important bilateral subjects and regional situation.

The King, who is in throne for more than 12 years and before that he was Emir for three years of his Arab country, is visiting Pakistan after significant visit of Saudi Crown prince and Deputy prime Minister of his Kingdom prince Salman bin Abdul Aziz last month.

The visit of King of Bahrain to Pakistan in the backdrop of the regional developments carries conspicuous diplomatic significance as new grouping is emerging in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member countries where Qatar is distaining from Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bahrain. The two sides have withdrawn their respective envoy from each other’s capitals recently.

Vaccination proof urged

ISLAMABAD: India announced on the other day that production of proof of vaccination against polio would be mandatory for all persons - adults or children - entering its territory from Pakistan after March 15 to protect its polio-free status.

“Pakistani nationals resident in Pakistan and planning to travel to India after March 15, 2014 will be required to submit along with their visa applications a certificate of vaccination for one dose of Oral Polio Vaccination received at least four weeks prior to departure to India,” said a statement released by the Indian High Commission.agencies
