ISLAMABAD: The government of Pakistan has dropped its plan to bracket Supreme Court and high courts judges with civil and military bureaucrats and parliamentarians in constitutional amendments for double nationality holders.

The ruling alliance member Senator Haji Muhammad Adeel confirmed that they have unanimously decided not to include the matter of bringing the judges under the dual nationality purview.

“It was decided to see whether the Supreme Court or the high courts spare their members from simultaneously holding two nationalities or come up with a common approach that all citizens are equal under law of the land,” he maintained.

Adeel, an active member during the talks within the treasury parties and ANP’s Senior Vice President, replied in the affirmative when asked as to whether his party objections have been removed by the PPP on specific legislation.
