TRIPOLI: Libya’s coastguard has seized more than 30,000kg of drugs from a boat off the coast of Tripoli, a naval source said yesterday. “A Libyan-flagged boat was boarded on Thursday 60km to the northeast of Bouri oil field,” navy spokesman Ayub Gacem said.
He said the authorities found 30,500kg of drugs on the boat, without specifying what kind, and arrested five people on board: two Moroccans, a Libyan, an Egyptian and a Tunisian. “The boat named Bab Bahr was led to Tripoli’s naval base, where it arrived at 10am on Friday,” Gacem said. AFP
