KABUL: At least four Afghan national army soldiers were killed following a roadside bomb explosion in the past 24 hours, Afghan online news agency Khaama Press reported.
The Afghan Defense Ministry spokesman, Gen. Zahir Azimi, said the four Afghan army soldiers were killed in an explosion caused by an improvised explosive device (IED).
He did not disclose the exact location where the incident took place however.
Azimi added that eight militants were killed and eight others were injured during the military operations in the past 24 hours.
He said Afghan army soldiers discovered and neutralized 33 rounds of IED during the operations.
The anti-government armed militant groups have not commented on the reports so far.
Taliban militants and other insurgent groups frequently use IED to target Afghan and coalition security forces. (QNA)
