DOHA: HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ahmed bin Abdullah Al-Mahmoud met Monday with Mark Simmonds, minister for Africa and international energy at the U.K. Foreign and Commonwealth Office, and the delegation accompanying him.
The meeting reviewed bilateral relations between Qatar and the United Kingdom and means of enhancing and developing them as well as the latest developments in Darfur and the implementation of the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur.
The British official stressed his country's support for the peace process and efforts for reconstruction and development in the region.
U.K. Ambassador to Doha Nicholas Hopton attended the meeting along with a group of Qatari cabinet officials.
Assistant FM meets British official
HE Assistant Foreign Minister for Foreign Affairs Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Rumaihi met Monday with Mark Simmonds, UK's minister for Africa, overseas territories, Caribbean and international energy at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
Discussions during the meeting focused on bilateral relations between the two countries and ways of enhancing them in addition to issues of common concern.
The meeting was attended by a group of the Foreign Ministry officials. (QNA)
