DOHA: The Advisory Council held on Monday its regular weekly meeting of its 42nd regular session at its White Palace premises under the chairmanship of its Speaker HE Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khulaifi.
At the outset of the meeting, HE the Secretary-General of the Advisory Council Fahad bin Mubarak Al Khayareen read the agenda which was then agreed upon. Then the Council endorsed the minutes of its previous session.
During the session, the Advisory Council discussed a report of the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee on a draft law exempting certain types of goods from customs duties. The Council decided to refer its recommendations thereon to the cabinet.
The Council also discussed a report of the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee on a draft law exempting non-Qatari investors from paying taxes on their share of profits in some companies and investment funds.
The Council decided to refer the draft law to the relevant committee for further study, and then submit a supplementary report thereon to the Council. (QNA)
