Nine infants die as Pakistan's Korangi hospital runs out of oxygen

ISLAMABAD: At least nine infants died on over the period of past two days because a private hospital in Korangi area of Karachi ran out of oxygen on ventilators. 
Enraged parents along with the locals are protesting against the hospital administration terming the lack of oxygen as negligence, Dunya News reported.
The families and locals caused the closure of Korangi crossing road in protest. 
At least two of hospital staffers were taken into custody. 
Governor Sindh Ishratul Ibad ordered the inquiry into the matter after taking notice.
The protestors also attacked the hospital property causing some damage as they protested while carrying dead bodies.
The contingent of police and rangers reached the hospital to control law and order situation and shut down the hospital to avoid any further damage.
Remaining infant patients at the hospital were transferred to other hospitals.
Governor Sindh Ishratul Ibad took notice of the incident and called for inquiry.   (QNA)
