OCCUPIED JERUSALEM: The office of the Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the home front defense ministry decided to install 500 surveillance cameras in the neighborhood of the occupied Jerusalem.
The Hebrew radio reported that the cameras to be installed in the neighborhood of Silwad, Sheikh Jarrah, Tor, Al-Eizariya, and the French Hill till Jilo settlement.
These cameras, which will cost 100 million Shekels, to be used for monitoring the Arab neighborhood 24hrs a day and to prevent any possible protest by the locals against Israeli soldiers.
This step is considered by Palestinians as a flagrant military violation of the privacy and freedom of the Arab citizens in Jerusalem. (QNA)
