DOHA: Halal Hal Qatar Festival starting March 22 at the Katara Culture Village will feature animal husbandry, the practice of selectively breeding and raising livestock, their health and care.
At the farm animals festival, organised by Cultural Village Foundation Katara for the third successive year, owners will showcase elements of goats and sheep care and grazing.
The festival will present three main activities - Al-Mazaiyn, will show the beauty of goats and sheep; Al-Mazad (Public Sale), selling groups of livestock through auction; and Al-Izab, group of barns, each containing different kind of livestock.
Visitors to the festival will get the opportunity to view and gather more information on small farm animals.
Owners of livestock will participate in the festival and assist visitors to know more about the animals.
A veterinarian will explain how to keep animal healthy and free of diseases.
The festival is showcasing a traditional old Qatari house to show how citizens lived long ago.
A traditional market comprising tents showing Arabian hospitality and coffee culture is also set up.
Qatari handicrafts, traditional food, games and song will be presented at the festival, Katara said.
The festival will be held from 10 am to 10pm at Katara's Southern Area from March 22 to 31. (QNA)
