RIYADH: The International Labour Organization (ILO) has praised the Saudi government's labour policies, particularly its plans to reduce youth unemployment and increase the participation of women in the economy.
ILO Director General Guy Ryder, who was in Riyadh this week to hold discussions with businesspeople and public officials.
Also commended Saudi Arabia for its laws to protect expatriate workers, Arab News daily reported Thursday.
Ryder welcomed the drive to ensure the private sector employs more Saudis.
He said the ILO plays an important role in fighting poverty and injustice, and providing protection for workers worldwide, the report added. (QNA)
