RIYADH: HE Qatar's Minister of Labour and Social Affairs Dr. Abdullah Bin Saleh Mubarak Al -Khulaifi, led his country's delegation to the 2nd Arab Forum on Development and Employment, now in session in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.
The three-day forum is part of the activities of the Arab Economic and Social Development Summit.
Within the forum activities, HE the qatari minister attended a debate entitled towards a sustainable social protection/ and which dealt with unemployment and effective strategies to stamp it out.
The event is being held under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
It being attended by 21 Arab and 55 delegations from other organisations, federations and business councils representing work parties, governments, business owners and labourers in the attendance of Princes and Ministers at Riyadh's Ritz Carlton Hotel.
Addressing the gathering, Ahmed bin Mohammed Luqman, the Director-General of Arab Labour Organization, gave an account on the situation, reasons behind and solutions for unemployment in the Arab world.
The event aims at reaching an arrangement for development and employment in view of the current changes, to build a complementary joint vision that creates a balance between the requirements of social protection and achieving sustainable economic development based on a comprehensive informative system.
