MANAMA: The Kingdom of Bahrain will host on Wednesday the 11th Gulf Heart Association and the 4th Bahrain Heart Association 2014 (GHA BHA 2014).
The joint 11th GHA and 4th BHA Congress will be held from February 26 to 28. It aims to promote excellent cardiology care and research in the region.
As well as facilitate the exchange of ideas and experience among regional and international leaders in the field.
The Congress will cover many aspects of cardiology including general and preventive cardiology, diagnostic and interventional cardiology, EPS, cardiac surgery, imaging, pediatrics and congenital heart disease cardiology.
Leading scientists, heart disease specialists and more than 500 participants are set to take part in the conference.
Head of the organizing committee and former Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health Dr. Abdul Hai Al Awadhi stressed that the conference features the participation of two societies that are deeply-rooted in the field of cardiology, namely the European Society of Cardiology, and the American College of Cardiology.
Participating doctors, nurses, and other medical staff members will receive 18 training hours that are certified by the European Board, he said.
The conference will include scientific sessions, workshops, and the presentation of scientific papers about heart disease prevention and treatment.
As many as 45 speakers from the US, UK, Egypt, and the Gulf region will discuss 39 topics, including heart disease and its treatment.
It will also witness the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Gulf Heart Association and the American College of Cardiology. (QNA)
