Toyota's global output in 2013 tops 10 million units for 1st time in industry

TOKYO: Toyota Motor Corp. said Wednesday its global group output in 2013 marked a record 10.12 million units, making it the world's first automaker to exceed the 10 million mark.

The number of vehicles produced by Toyota Motor Corp. and its group automakers, Daihatsu Motor Co. and Hino Motors Ltd. grew 2.1 percent from the previous year.

Enhanced production in North and South America, Europe, Asia and Australia contributed to the record, Toyota said. (QNA)
