Most of the dead and missing were from Compostella Valley and Davao Oriental provinces, spokesman for the disaster-response agency Maj. Reynaldo Balido said.
On Monday, a landslide in Cagdianao municipality in Dinagat Island, off the northeastern coast of the main southern island of Mindanao, damaged five houses, killing six residents including two children.
