Al Sada lauds accomplishments of Muntajat Company

DOHA: HE Dr. Mohammed Bin Saleh Al-Sada, the Minister of Energy and Industry, has lauded the achievements of Qatar Chemical and Petrochemical Marketing and Distribution Muntajat Company Q.J.S.C. which were accomplished since it was established one year ago.
During a visit on Thursday to the Company's headquarters, the Minister of Energy and Industry said, "Muntajat has already achieved significant operational and commercial milestones by being responsible for the marketing and sales of almost 90 percent of Qatar's chemical and petrochemical products."
He expressed hope that this will become 100 percent by the end of the year.
HE Dr. Al-Sada said in a press release the company issued here Saturday that Muntajat is delivering on its promise to customers and providing a platform for the industry to grow in line with the vision of His Highness the Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani.
"The downstream industry is primed for expansion in alignment with the Qatar National Vision of a diversified and competitive economy," He added.
"Future planned investments in the downstream sector, will enable Muntajat to play an increasingly important role in representing Qatar's chemical and petrochemical industry to the world," His Excellency the Minister commented.
Dr. Al-Sada, who is also the Chairman of the Muntajat Board of Directors, was accompanied by board members and the Executive Leadership team of Muntajat.
He met the Muntajat management team and received a briefing on the company's progress and achievements and the integration of the marketing and sales activities of Qatar's chemical and petrochemical producing entities.
For his part, Abdulrahman Ali Al-Abdullah, CEO, said "I would like to thank HE Dr. Mohammed Bin Saleh Al-Sada for his presence and complete support over the past months.
Muntajat has been able to meet its objectives, starting with acquiring the export responsibilities for more than 90 percent of Qatar's chemical and petrochemical products.
"With shipments reaching around 40 countries, we have quickly built a global business and positioned ourselves strategically worldwide.
We now embark on our next phase of operations, moving to grow the global network and expand customer relationships.
Part of that process will include opening offices in 26 countries.
Finally, I would also like to thank every one of the 185 Muntajat employees for their hard work getting us to where we are today," said Al-Abdullah.
Since 1st February 2013, Muntajat has taken over marketing and distribution functions of Qatar Fuel Additives Company Limited (QAFAC), Qatar Fertiliser Company (QAFCO), SEEF Limited, Qatar Vinyl Company (QVC), Qatar Petrochemical Company (QAPCO) and Qatofin.
Muntajat is on track to complete the full consolidation of the marketing and distribution of the products of all nine producing entities by the end of 2013.
Muntajat was recently recognised as the Downstream Company of the Year by The Oil and Gas Year for 2013.
The award identified Muntajat as one of the most important developments Qatar's downstream sector has seen in decades and acknowledged its numerous achievements.
The Oil and Gas Year's award reflects on the company's vision to be the world leader in the marketing and distribution of chemicals, polymers and fertilisers industries by meeting customer needs in a responsible, reliable and efficient manner.
In addition to its operational transitions, Muntajat has been building its presence through sponsorships, exhibitions and meetings with customers at some of the chemical and petrochemical industry's leading events worldwide.
Qatar Chemical and Petrochemical Marketing and Distribution Company Q.J.S.C., was honoured with the 2013 Downstream Company of the Year award by The Oil and Gas Year, a leading international publication chronicling the industry, in a press event that was held at the Intercontinental Hotel in Doha.
In presenting the award, representatives of the publication identified Muntajat as "one of the most important developments Qatar’s downstream sector has seen in decades" and acknowledged the company’s achievements and the strides accomplished to date.
Receiving the award before industry colleagues, Abdulrahman Ali Al-Abdulla, CEO of Muntajat said: "We’re delighted to receive this award, as it validates the great progress against operational and commercial milestones Muntajat has achieved in its first three quarters of operation.
Concluding CEO of Muntajat said, "It’s proof positive that we are delivering on the mandate entrusted to us by the leadership of the State of Qatar in creating Muntajat to represent the chemicals and petrochemicals sector abroad." (QNA)
