DOHA: HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud met here today with the Joint Special Representative of the African Union and the United Nations for Darfur and Joint Chief Mediator Head of the UN-AU Peacekeeping Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) Dr. Mohamed Ibn Chambas.
During the meeting, Dr. Mohamed Ibn Chambas briefed HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs on the outcome of the consultative meeting, which was held in the city of Arusha in Tanzania during the period from 22 to 27 August, with some of Darfur's non-signatory movements of the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur.
Talks during the meeting also dealt with the situation in Darfur and the path of the implementation of Doha Document in addition to the latest developments in the peace process in the light of the arrival of the advance delegation of the Sudanese Justice and Equality Movement to Khartoum to follow up the implementation of the peace agreement signed by the movement with the Sudanese government in Doha in April this year on the basis of the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur.
The meeting was attended by a number of officials from the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers. (QNA)
