2 dead, 3 injured in Afghanistan explosion

KABUL: A heavy explosion rocked eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan early Tuesday morning.
The incident took place in Jalalabad city, according to Afghan's Khaama Press.
Local residents and eyewitnesses in the area are saying that at least three people were killed or injured following the incident.
It is yet not clear if it was a suicide bomb attack or improvised explosive device (IED) explosion, and the main target of the explosion is also not clear.
Local officials have confirmed that an explosion took place in Behsud area, however they did not disclose further information regarding the casualties.
In the meantime provincial security chief Masoom Khan Hashemi said the incident took place after a motorcycle packed with explosives went of killing at least two people and injuring three others.
The two individuals killed are members of the Afghan national directorate of security (NDS) and Afghan national police.
No group including the Taliban militants has so far claimed responsibility behind the incident. (QNA)
