BAGHDAD: Two members of the Awakening forces were killed and a third was wounded today in an armed attack on a checkpoint northwest of Kirkuk, Iraq.
An unidentified armed group attacked a checkpoint of the Awakening forces on the outskirts of Debis district, Iraqi police said.
In another incident, an employee working in the Office of the President of the National Alliance Ibrahim Jaafari was wounded after an adhesive bomb planted in his car south of Baghdad exploded.
The blast took place in Dora district, south of Baghdad, a source said, noting that the employee was seriously wounded.
Furthermore, two people were injured in a blast today in Wajihiya district northeast of Baquba.
Unidentified gunmen planted three bombs near three houses on the outskirts of the district, one of them belonging to a security element, injuring a man and a woman and causing extensive damage to residential buildings, the Wajihiya istrict Director said. (QNA)
