Fanar Center partners with CMU-Q to teach Arabic language

DOHA: Qatar Islamic Cultural Centre (Fanar) of the Ministry of Endowment and Islamic Affairs is set to offer Arabic language courses for non-speakers from Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar, in accordance with the center's partnerships with a number of universities in the Education City.
Fanar signed an agreement with CMU-Q that will allow the center's Education Institute to teach Arabic to students and professors of the university using the technical facilities at CMU-Q headquarters in the Education City.
Courses include conversation workshops, comprehensive academic training, in addition to Islamic culture for professors, students and new staff.
Fanar Center Director Abdulla Al-Mulla said the agreement ensures more stability in the availability of courses for CMU-Q students, professors and new staff, and make it easier for the center to organize such courses, which helps to develop and improve the material presented. He noted that this cooperation reflects international stature of the Education Institute, which qualifies it to deal with the finest educational institutions in a professional manner.
He added that such agreements will help strengthen the role of the center in spreading the principles of Islam and its culture, and the national customs and traditions, via Arabic language and the unique technologies of Fanar Center's Education Institute. (QNA)
