Qatar participates in ISESCO Summit in Riyadh

DOHA: Qatar is taking part in the 11th session of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), held in Riyadh on December 1-2, with the participation of education and higher education ministers of member states.

The Qatari delegation is headed by HE Saad bin Ibrahim Al-Mahmoud, the Minister of Education and Higher Education and Secretary General of the Supreme Education Council (SEC).

The two-day conference will discuss a draft tripartite action plan, a budget for 2013-2015, in addition to five reports submitted to ISESCO director-general about the organization's activities between the 10th and 11th sessions. The conference also discusses educational, scientific and cultural programs for Jerusalem and Palestine, and reviews the work of the organization and financial reports for 2009-2011.

Participants also look at the contributions of member states in the organization's budget and review some administrative and legal issues. (QNA)
