Pakistan suspends phone network services in two cities

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Interior ministry partially suspended cellular phone networks on Friday in Karachi and Quetta for security purposes, Pakistani state media reported.
Some mobile phone networks are still working in Karachi, however.
According to Pakistan's (Geo News TV), Interior Minister Rehman Malik took the decision to avoid any potential attacks that might be arranged using cell phone services.
He also ordered a motorcycle riding ban at the same two cities, however, the Chief Justice Sindh High took action against the minister's decision and resorted motorcycle riding in Karachi only. Police and Frontier Corps (FC) arrested several violators of the ban in Quetta. (QNA)
