London: Rebekah Brooks has denied knowing that The Sun paid a single source at the Ministry of Defence’s press office more than £80,000 for stories.
Brooks told jurors at the phone hacking trial yesterday she had no idea who the source was when a series of requests for payments were made by one of her reporters during her editorship of the paper.
Under cross-examination about the authorisation systems at the paper for cash payments she said: “They don’t equal something dodgy going on.”
The trial continues.
