Saudi Arabia, Japan discuss oil, energy cooperation

RIYADH: Saudi Assistant Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz on Saturday met with Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Toshimtsu Motegi and his accompanying delegation, currently on a visit to Saudi Arabia.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the situation of the international oil market and agreed that it is in a stable condition and oil supplies are sufficient to provide for the global consumption, state news agency SPA reported.

They also discussed bilateral cooperation in the fields of oil and energy and means of enhancing them, including the expansion of Japanese investment in the kingdom, especially in advanced industries.

The Japanese official promised to urge Japanese companies to join these investments. (QNA)
