DOHA: The Hague International Model United Nations (THIMUN) two-day conference will open at the Qatar National Convention Centre on January 30.
At this year's conference around 1,200 participants will be in attendance to collaborate on a variety of critical issues as a means of furthering international co-operation, the Press Office of Qatar Foundation announced Tuesday.
Speeches and presentations will be given by various high-profile government officials, businessmen, professors and students.
The State of Qatar Attorney General HE Dr Ali Bin Fetais Al Marri and Qatar Shell General Manager of Corporate Affairs and Deputy Country Chairman Rob Sherwin are amongst those giving opening remarks.
Shell will also sign another five-year sponsorship agreement with THIMUN to support the organisation’s ongoing mission.
THIMUN strives to foster solution-oriented discussion to widespread problems such as human rights violations, environmental protection and disarmament, amongst others, QF said. (QNA)
