BAGHDAD: The Iraqi Interior Ministry has vowed strong response against anyone raises weapon in any of the Iraqi provinces.
An official source at the Iraqi Interior Ministry said that some influential people in the western Iraqi province of Anbar have threatened to raise weapon against the government if their demands were not implemented.
The source cautioned of foreign plots trying to foment rebellion among the people.
The Sunni-majority Anbar province in western Iraq have witnessed massive popular demonstrations throughout a week, demanding the release of detainees in prisons, especially women, who are subjected to human rights violations, according to local reports, and also demanding the abolition of the Terrorism Act.
