Arab Broadcasting Union concludes meetings

DOHA: Egyptian Information Minister Salah Abdul Maqsoud has stressed the key importance of exchange of news and expermintal programmes between the arab countries.
Addressing the closing session of the 88th session of the executive council of the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) held here Tuesday, "We people of thought and opinion bear the major burden before politicians to call for unity of the arab nation”.
"Thus we have to give more attention to issues of our arab and islamic nation foremost the palestinian cause and the issue of the holy sanctities which were given lower attension in the arab media", Abdul Maqsoud said adding that such an issue should be shedlighted and focus on challenges facing it.
The Executive President of Qatar Media Corporation (QMC) HE Mubarak bin Jaham al-Kuwari will led QMC's media delegation to attend the 88th session of the executive council of the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) and the 32nd regular session of the ASBU's General Assembly due to kick off in Cairo on 9-13 December.
During the meetings, the participants got acquainted with the modus operandi in all ASBU-affiliated committess.
It is worth to mention that Qatar is now chairing the engineering committee of the ASBU.
The Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU), founded in 1969, is an Arab joint-action institution related to the League of Arab States and the Pan-Arab Association of Public Service and Commercial Broadcasters based in Tunis. (QNA)
